Zackary Drucker & Rhys Ernst
Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst are a Los Angeles-based couple whose individual and collaborative work addresses both sides of transgender experience. Drucker and Ernst’s most recent film collaboration She Gone Rogue premiered at the Hammer Museum’s First Los Angeles Biennial, Made in LA 2012. Some of their recent individual works include The Thing (Rhys Ernst), which premiered at Sundance 2012 and At Least You Know You Exist (Zackary Drucker) which premiered at MOMA PS1. Rhys Ernst is a writer/director who has shown work at Sundance, Oberhausen, Chicago International Film Festival, Chicago MOCA, Brooklyn Academy of Music, REDCAT, LACE and Outfest. He was named 2010 HBO Point Scholar, a 2012 Project: Involve Fellow, he received a 2003 Princess Grace Award Honorarium and a Gold Plaque at the 2003 Chicago International Film Festival, and was President of the Jury at the 2005 Izmir Short film festival in Turkey. Zackary Drucker is a multimedia artist working in performance, film/video, photography and spoken language. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally at locations including MOMA PS1, Deitch Projects, Leo Koenig Projekte and Invisible Exports in New York; Luis De Jesus in Los Angeles; Moscow International Biennale For Young Art; and Les Recontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/ Madrid.
